Flysight 2 GPS

FlySight was designed from the ground up for wingsuit pilots and does one truly revolutionary thing. FlySight provides real-time audible indication of glide ratio, horizontal or vertical speed. If you've used other GPS receivers, you know the drill. When you land, you review data from the jump. If you're lucky, or if you've planned a very simple jump, you might remember what you were doing when your glide ratio maxed out. On the next jump, you try to do it again.

FlySight speeds the learning process. When you change your body position, you instantly hear a change in the tone. Your brain easily connects this feedback with your precise body position, making it astonishingly easy to remember what worked and what didn't. FlySight has been discontinued.....

FLYSIGHT 2

FlySight 2 is a complete redesign, building on all the things we learned with FlySight 1. Of course, we've included the original features:

•         Real-time audible feedback using tones and speech
•         Review of data after the jump using the same applications you've used with              FlySight 1

To this, we've added a few new features:

•         More powerful processor with Bluetooth Low Energy radio
  
•         Improved audio quality
•         Additional sensors (acceleration, rotation, orientation, pressure, humidity,                  temperature)
•         Water resistant case (IP67)
•         USB C

Initially, the functionality of FlySight 2 will be similar to FlySight 1, but as with the original, we will be improving FlySight 2 with free firmware updates. The first priority once we get the hardware out the door will be to work with mobile application developers to build an interface to transfer data and configure FlySight 2.

FlySight 2 can log GNSS at a rate of up to 25 Hz, pressure up to 200 Hz, and acceleration and rotation up to 6 kHz. Looking ahead, we will be using this data to provide information about the unit's orientation during a jump, as well as to improve the accuracy of distance measurements over short time spans, e.g., shortly after exit.
